Social Media · Short-form video

Short-Form
Video(05)
Short videos, without a film crew.

I come up with simple video ideas you can film on your phone, send a one-page guide for each, edit the footage into tight videos with strong hooks and captions, and post them to Reels, Shorts and LinkedIn.

What is short-form video?

Short-form video is vertical video under a minute or so, made for Instagram and Facebook Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok and LinkedIn. For a small business, that usually means quick tips, before and afters, behind-the-scenes moments and answers to common questions.

Why it matters

Short video reaches more people than almost any other kind of post, and it shows the real people and work behind your business in a way photos can’t. YouTube Shorts can also show up in search, so a 30-second answer can keep bringing in views long after it’s posted.

Video ideas

Simple ideas you can film this week.

I come up with video ideas built from your work and the questions customers ask: quick tips, before and afters, a day in the life, customer stories. Each one is simple enough to film on your phone in a few minutes, no studio or script required.

02 · Plan and film

Filming guides

A one-page guide for every video.

Every idea comes with a short filming guide: how to hold the phone, where to stand for good light, which shots to grab and the one line to say. You or someone on your team can film it in under ten minutes, and it comes out usable the first time.

03 · Edit and hook

Editing

Raw footage in, a tight video out.

Send me the raw clips and I’ll cut them into a tight video: the dead air and ums removed, the best moments up front, captions and a quiet music track added, and your branding at the end. Usually ready to post within a couple of days.

04 · Edit and hook

Captions and hooks

Win the first three seconds.

Most viewers decide in the first few seconds whether to keep watching. Every video opens with the problem or a surprising number, not an introduction, and gets big, readable captions so it works on mute. I try a few openings and keep what holds attention.

Illustrative hooks. Percentages are examples.

05 · Post everywhere

Reels and Shorts

One video, posted everywhere it fits.

Each video goes to Facebook and Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and LinkedIn, with small tweaks for each: a searchable title on YouTube, a local hashtag on Facebook, a caption for business buyers on LinkedIn. One shoot, several places to be seen.

Illustrative posting. Views are examples.
