Profile(07)
Your storefront on Google Search and Maps.

For a lot of customers, your Business Profile is the first thing they see: your hours, photos, reviews and a button to call. I set it up properly, keep it active and make sure it brings in calls, not just views.

What is a Google Business Profile?

It’s the free listing that shows your business on Google Search and Maps: your name, address, hours, phone number, photos, reviews and updates. It’s what appears in the map results and beside the search results when someone looks up your name.

Why it matters

For local searches, it’s often the first and only thing people look at before they call, ask for directions or visit your site. A complete, active profile helps Google understand what you do and helps customers pick you. It’s free, and most businesses leave it half-finished.

01 · Build the profile

Profile setup

Every detail filled in, and filled in right.

I claim and verify your profile, then fill in everything Google gives you: hours and holiday hours, services, a plain description, attributes and the right contact details. Your business name stays your real name, because adding keywords to it breaks Google’s rules and can get a profile suspended.

Categories

Tell Google exactly what you are.

Your primary category is one of the strongest signals for which searches you show up for. I pick the most specific one that fits, add extra categories only for things you really do, and check what the businesses beating you are using.

Photos

Real photos, added all the time.

People want to see the place, the people and the work before they pick you. I replace stock images with real photos of your location, team and jobs, keep new ones going up every month, and keep an eye on the photos customers add.

04 · Keep it active

Posts

Something new on your profile every week.

Updates won’t move you up the map by themselves, but they show customers you’re open, busy and worth calling. I plan and publish regular updates, offers and events, each with a clear button, and track which ones get clicks.

Reviews

Ask every customer, and answer every review.

I set you up with a short review link to send after every job, and help you reply to every review, good or bad, within a day or two. It all stays within Google’s rules: no paying for reviews, no offering discounts for them and no only asking happy customers.

Q&A

Google’s AI now answers questions about you.

Google retired the old Q&A section on Business Profiles. Now people can ask about your business right in Maps, and Google’s AI answers using your profile, your website and your reviews. I find the questions customers really ask and make sure the answers are clearly written in those places, so Google gets them right.

Insights

See what your profile actually brings in.

Google’s Performance report, which used to be called Insights, shows how many people found your profile, what they searched and how many called, asked for directions or visited your site. I track it every month, tag your website link so those visits show up properly in Analytics, and report it in plain English.
