Websites that turn visitors into customers.

I design and build fast, mobile-first Squarespace websites you can update yourself, with clear words, one obvious next step on every page and the search basics built in from day one. Or start from one of my ready-made templates.

What is web design for small businesses?

Web design is planning, writing, designing and building the website your customers use to decide whether to call you: the pages, the words, the look, how it works on a phone, how fast it loads and whether everyone can use it.

Why it matters

Your website is usually the last thing people check before they contact you. A clear, fast, trustworthy site turns more of your visitors into calls and inquiries, works with your SEO instead of against it, and gives every other kind of marketing somewhere good to send people.

01 · Design and build

Website design

Designed around your customers.

We start with a sitemap and what your customers need to know, then I design every page around it: a homepage that explains what you do in seconds, a page for each service, real reviews and an easy way to get in touch. Two planned rounds of changes, no endless back-and-forth.

02 · Design and build

Squarespace builds

A custom site you can edit yourself.

I build on Squarespace with custom code where it counts, so you get a site that looks one-of-a-kind but that you can update yourself, like hours, photos or a new service, in minutes. Hosting, security and updates are handled, with no plugins to babysit.

03 · Design and build

Landing pages

A page for every campaign.

Ads and campaigns work better when they land on a page made for them. I build focused landing pages that repeat the promise in the ad, answer the main questions, show proof and ask for one thing, so more of the people you pay to reach actually get in touch.

04 · Turn visits into calls

Conversion design

Make it easy to say yes.

Small design choices decide whether a visitor calls. I put your phone number and one clear button on every page, place reviews right where people decide, shorten forms and add a sticky quote bar on phones, then watch the numbers and keep improving.

05 · Turn visits into calls

Mobile-first

Built for the phone first.

Most of your visitors are on a phone, so I design for the small screen first: buttons big enough to tap, text you can read without zooming, a call button right up top and no sideways scrolling. Every page is checked at phone width before it goes live.

06 · Move it and open it up

Site migrations

Move platforms without losing ground.

Moving from WordPress, Wix or an old custom site? I move every page and post, map every old address to its new one with permanent redirects and check search traffic after launch, so the rankings and links you’ve built come with you.

07 · Move it and open it up

Accessibility

A site everyone can use.

I design and check against WCAG 2.2 AA: readable color contrast, alt text on images, labels on buttons and forms, and a site you can use with a keyboard or screen reader. It’s the right thing to do, it lowers legal risk and it usually helps your SEO too.

08 · Words and speed

Copywriting

Words that say what you do.

Most small business sites say “welcome” and “quality service” and leave visitors guessing. I write every page in plain words: what you do, who it’s for, where, why you, and what to do next, in your voice and with the searches people actually use.

09 · Words and speed

Site speed

Fast on a phone, not just on Wi-Fi.

Slow pages lose visitors before they see a thing. I compress and resize images, cut scripts you don’t need, keep the layout from jumping around and test on a real phone connection, so your site loads fast where it matters and passes Google’s Core Web Vitals.
